Are the Licenses Perpetual?

All of the UniDoc product's licenses are perpetual. This means that once you buy the license key, it will work forever. It will never expire and you will also be eligible to get updates for the 1 year of your subscription. Updates include bug fixes and new features.

How UniDoc's UniPDF, UniOffice, and UniSuite License Work?

Whenever you buy a license, its validity is 1 year from the date of purchase. During the 1 year period, you are eligible to receive product updates that include bug fixes and new features. Once the 1 year period passed away, you are now ready for license renewal. (License renewals are normally automatic unless you disable this in FastSpring, our payment partner).

Explanation: How Licensing will Work in Real Life

Let's say that you purchased UniPDF on the 1st of Jan 2022 and at the time when you purchased UniPDF its version was 3.30.0. On the 1st of April, we released the new version of UniPDF version 3.31.0. You will be able to upgrade your UniPDF to the new version 3.31.0 and so on. On the 31st of December 2022, we released a new version of UniPDF 3.40.0. You will still be able to update your version of UniPDF to the latest version which is 3.40.0.

On the 2nd of Jan 2023, your license expired. On the 2nd of Jan 2023, we released a bug-fixed version of UniPDF 3.40.1. At this time you will not be able to update your UniPDF library as the license has expired on 1st of Jan 2023. If you want to continue to use the updated version of UniPDF, you will be required to renew the subscription by paying 20% of the initial value. Else you will still be able to continue to use the last version you have last updated that was UniPDF 3.40.0 without any restriction or without updating the license key installed with the code.
