Can UniPDF make a PDF uneditable?
While there is no such thing as a completely uneditable PDF file, UniPDF does support the following use cases:
- Flattening PDF forms and annotations: A PDF with form and annotations can have parts where user input can be edited. UniPDF can flatten the PDF such that the field content and annotations becomes part of the PDF document and thus cannot be edited in a typical PDF viewer.
- See examples on our example repository: https://github.com/unidoc/unipdf-examples/tree/master/forms
- Digital Signatures: To provide a proof that a document was created or signed by a certain person, digital signatures can be used to provide verifiable means that content has not been modified since creation. UniPDF has comprehensive support for digital signatures and work is underway to support timestamping.
